Floyd's a loser

Why did they have to add this brings-nothing-to-the-table dork when there are plenty of original Looney Toons characters who rarely/never appear (Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin, Roadrunner & Coyote)? The only reason I can come up with is that the show became too confined to the house and Granny can't see well enough to have a license, so they needed somebody to drive them around. Maybe there was an episode explaining this and I missed it, I don't know. If the kids were older they'd steal Floyd's keys and ditch him miles from home in the bad part of town - he's got a major "Ernest in Ernest Goes to Camp" quality about him. He would be much more interesting if he were an ex-con trying to walk the straight and narrow, or maybe a war vet who just came home and is trying to re-adjust to civilian life, something like that. As it is, he sucks.

These are the things I think about when watching tv with a four-year old.

I've only seen one episode with Floyd in it, but I was NOT impressed. I hate it when they bring pointless characters into established casts just for the heck of it.

I'm so glad someone brought this up. His presence in the show is pointless and even worse instead of actually teaching the looney tune babies lessons that actually human kids their age and somewhat older can actually relate to(while in Granny's house)instead he takes them on field trips where he teaches them lessons about how show business is not all it is cracked up to be, sportmanship and how girls should be treated equally in sports. While these are important lessons for maybe the age 6-9 crowd I think the relevancy of these two lessons is very nill for what and who the show was originally intended for. Even worse it seems that random "zanyness" has been substituted for good writing. This show has obviously jumped the shark and "Floyd" is the official Scrappy Doo of Baby Looney Tunes. Hopefully the writers will have Granny send this loser to jail for child endangerment, change petunia's hair back to normal (as well as fix other minor artistic changes the storyboards have undergone)and start raising the kids again.

I just think that Floyd needs more controll over the kids. I'm sure he'll, at some point or another, adjust to the show and become an essential piece of the puzzle.

I have seen Foghorn, Roadrunner, and Coyote in some episodes.

Also, I have to like Floyd. He's got my last name!

they should make him really strict and have clever idea to torture the kids. like a Major Payne and Vicky mixed

The reason I thought they added him was for less Granny screentime. June Foray sure isn't young anymore.

I never liked Floyd either, from the moment he was added. I thought this was a good cartoon until he was added. Floyd needs to be removed post-haste. They can say he moved on campus at his school which is a far distance away.

I disagree with all of you.
Floyd was a funny, interesting character, and one who could take the pratfalls that the show's creators would never have allowed to happen to Granny.
And, for a young person, his patience with the babies was remarkable.
