Title (possible spoilers)

In the summary, it says "They don't realize until too late, that the party they're having is a wake" Do they mean that because none of them know the mom has already died upstairs? Or are they referring to what happens to Kyle later in the movie? We see the mom come down at the end, I'm guessing she's already dead, and that's her ghost, to escort Kyle, did anyone else think that?

I think they are referring to the unforseen death of Kyle.

I got the feeling only Kyle could see his mother, you notice everyone else was looking at the ground, only Kyle seemed to be looking in her direction.

Right, I guess because they were both dead at that point.

I figured the "never could have guessed that it would be a wake" because they didn't know Kyle would die. But I guessed that the mother had died to, but that was probably at least a tiny bit expected by the brothers.
