i have purchased the field sequential viewer set and i have seen a field sequential version of this anyone else know how good it is?

you need the converter thing...the IMAX collection...a little 3D converter box...i have one and i heard the movie was incredible...way better than the dumb red and blue...i havn't seen this yet, but tell me how it is because i am about to get it!...i have other movies that are really cool!

Can anyone give me a good review of this version of the dvd so I can know if this is worth buying.

Alright first you have to get a 3D theather thing...the Ultimate 3D collection (with the IMAX DVD's)...something like that....it gives you 4 incredible IMAX 3D DVD's and a viewing system for 2 what ever one you buy...your television has to be a CRT not a plasma, LCD, or HDTV...i don't know why though....All of these movies are amazing...most of them are "in your face stuff"...it's field sequential 3D not the cheep red and blue glasses stuff...If you do by the collection try to get other DVD's along with it because there is this shipping deal at this place...The spy kids one is great a HUGE difference from the red and blue glasses...here's some DVD options to get with the collection...

S.O.S. Planet- Great! really in your face! Outstanding!
Santa Vs. The Snowman- Fun! and good 3D!
Spy Kids 3D- Great! Amazing! a big step up from the red/blue version!!!
Misadventures in 3D- eh...ok...some good 3D...

...there's a lot more, but those are the main newer ones...

The 3D collection (IMAX Version) comes with....

Encounter in the 3rd Dimension- Cool neat! Fun! it has part of T2: The Ride!
Alien Adventure- If you like thrills you'll like this one!
Haunted Castle- GOOD 3D! Great story...Excellent!
Ultimate G's- Neat...different...good...

It isn't true these won't work on HDTVs....they play fine on my 16X9 sets (one tube and one RPTV). However, for plasma and LCD sets there is an issue that requires more special equipment.

The SPY KIDS 3-D field sequential version is 1000 times better than the anaglyph release.

Hey can sumone tell me how this shutter glasses work. I just oredered the ultimate 3-D collection and I want 2 know exactly how it works. It sound complicated. So can sum1 tell me what does what. That would really be helpful because I have a feeling that I might do something wrong.

I can help you.

you will recieve a small black box with 2 holes and a button on the front. And 3 on the back. you take your RCA cables (red,white and yellow) from your dvd player. Plug the yellow oneinto the back of the box and the red and white into the normal place on the telivison. Take one of the cables provided and plug it into the other whole on the back of the box and the other end into the telivison where the white and red cables are going. PLug in the power source into the other hole.

Next plug your glassess into one of the holes in the front of the box. Start the dvd you will notice the glassess flicking at this point. Start a movie as normal and enjoy

note: you should be in a dark room wiht little light, sit tback from the telivision set.

Also the glasses do not work on HDTV or PLASMA telivison screens.

If there is a problem with no 3D effects press the button on the front to change the shutter from left to right

(THIS IS ALL INCLUDED IN INSTRUCTIONS WITH BOX)

The 3D works great i have watched it on a small tv in my kitchen and stood very far back and it still works great. So far i only have a bootleg Friday the 13th part 3 in 3D. The 3D is awseome and its not even dvd quality though i look forward to buying more

Doesn't the ultimate 3-d collection already come with dvd's? That's how it is on Amazon.com. It says it comes with

Then later I plan on getting Spy Kids 3-D (HQFS) version
Anyway I hope it comes 2day. I am really going 2 explode soon if it doesn't.

Does anyone know if the Virtual FX Converter is any good...does stuff pop out at you...? I'm thinkin about getting that, but if stuff doesn't pop out that i won't...? respond please...i want to know... :)

I just watched all of them. I have to say that I'm never going ti watch Alien Adventure again. That has the be the most stupidest and nausiating thing I've ever sat through. But the others were okay. REALLY GOOD effects. I have that dumb Shark Boy and Lava Girl 3-D movie and wow. This is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
better than those crappy red and blue glasses.
I am glad I bought it. Now I just need to get Spy Kids 3-D HCD version.

lol i just ordered mine like 2 days ago so the complaining for me should start real soon lol. I have the friday the 13th part 3D but its a copy of a lazer disk and it easily looks vhs quality and that bothers me so hopefully this spy kids field sequential will be dvd quality i think it would be seeing as how its not on lazer disk

Of corse it would take a little longer than 4 the rest of you on the mainland.

I GOT IT ON FRIDAY! it is amazing the film is giving so much depth. When things arnt coming out at you, The set looks massive it really improves the film and is one thousnad times better than the red/blue version a must bye!

you will understand when you see it. In the red and blue version it appears as tho the buildings are right directly behind the actor with little effect. In this version it appears as it would look when you and i look down a street in real life. It seems like the buildings are way in the distance but the detail is not lost because its in red and blue. I dont know thats just how i percieve it.

Hey, a few questions...
Why do the glasses need to be plugged into some box?
What does the movie look like when the glasses aren't on - is it all distorted and stuff?
WHat do normal things look like with the glasses on?
How do they make older movies into 3d, i thought that two camera angles needed to be recorded to get the right perspective, or is that just for red/blue 3D?

I remember, about 10(?) years ago, there was a special '3rd Rock from the Sun' episode in 3d, and it wasn't Blue/Red... I think it uses polarised lenses or something - and these didn't need to be pluggued into a box...

lol, sorry for the mass of questions, but if anyone can answer them it would be great.

Okay so I watched it again. This timw I watched it with no light. (the other time I watched it while the sun was shining through the windows). So I decided to watch it without that evil glare! It was okay........
Not much to go crazy for. Yes it was better than the red/blue version but only by a little. And the video looked like it was streched out. Anyone else notice that?
So over all it was okay. Here are my grades:

Movie theater: 9/10
Red/Blue DVD: 4/10
HD Version: 6/10

Nothing tops the first time I saw this on the BIG SCREEN! Now that was some awsome 3-D!!!

I thought it wasn't good as in pop out, but the depth and quality were good. Do you have a small box thing? If you do then maybe try pressing a button on it that might help, but i mean other ones are better.
