nitpicking!

Beckett calls his rifle in the movie a Mauser 98, when it's so obviously a Mosin Nagant. Anyone else bothered by this? You'd think he'd know what the hell it was he was shooting with.

guy who did review called him Becker multiple times when he is actualy Beckett
did u noticed that?

I can't believe they made that much of a slip with the rifles. Even someone who has basic knowledge of surplus military rifles could spot that almost right away. I do not believe this to be nitpicking. Proper firearm nomenclature is grossly overlooked in alot of films and TV.

I laughed when i herd this lol oh well i guess only true gunnutz like myself would see that.

I used to have an uncle called Mosin Nagant. He was a good shot too.

Yeah I was disappointed with that.

They could have handled it in 2 ways.

1. Just find a real Mauser, almost the most common large caliber bolt action rifle in Europe.

2. He could have called it a Mosin Nagat, decent rifle and used with great success by USSR snipers in WW2.

It seems like a ridiculous thing to be bothered by.

In fiction, in theater, etc., the actual prop could be a cardboard box, a stick, a leather belt, a blender--anything, and they could call it a "Mauser 98". As a viewer, you're supposed to play along, be a participant in the make believe, that it is a Mauser 98, or depending on the context, that the character at least believes that it is, or is saying it is for some reason, etc.
