You Only Needed Four Stamps

How did she know? She simply received the package, and if you use stamps versus a postmark, the total price isn't stamped on the envelope.

reply

You count the value of the stamps.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.

reply

Wow, really helper?

So I count the value of the five stamps, and say it equalled $2.

So how do I know precisely how much the envelope weighed, and how much it should have cost?

P.S. I like the sig btw...

Well, that's the future, man.

reply

Wow. It doens't really take a genius to figure out how many stamps should be on any given envelope. At least, usually the weight of the envelope means a certain amount of stamps. I would agree knowing how much one needs would make you sort of a nerd, but hey there's people knowing a lot of trivial facts.

reply

"At least, usually the weight of the envelope means a certain amount of stamps"

Well yeah, but.....that's the problem. This envelope was packed full of crap, and the gal never weighed it.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

How do you know she didn't weigh the package? She had everything ready for him before he got there. Granted, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for her to weigh it, but that doesn't mean she isn't one of those OCD types.

reply

I mean yeah, she could have...but why on earth would a receiver of an envelope who didn't pay for the postage nor need to pay for the shipping, care one iota how much it weighed?

reply

Doesn't make much sense, I agree.

reply

Probably left over from the short story and meant to call attention to the fifth stamp, which ... *** spoiler alert *** ... is where we find important information.

What got me was how all the stuff could have been safely mailed in a manila envelope. I would not have entrusted that to anything less than a padded or cardboard envelope. Sharp edges are notorious for breaking holes in paper envelopes.

She's a secretary. It is one of their superpowers to know postage rates etc.

Clearly........well-played.

More to the point: who the *beep* would say something like that? In real life, already ridiculous, let alone in a movie. Did they really have to make it that obvious that the extra stamp was one of the things he sent himself?

Do they take us for morons?

reply

Yeah would have been better for him to put 8-10 stamps and maybe she just says, hey a lot of stamps, or nothing at all, but it may be obvious that the stamps have something else going on...

reply

I would had said hey a lot of stamps but in the UK like the USA, the value of the stamps are determined on how heavy the package is. How did she know how heavy it was?

It's that man again!!

reply

Yep, you got it...that was precisely my point, she had no way of knowing how many stamps would have been required, unless she weighed the envelope.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

....and how the hell did he get those newspaper images in the eye on that one stamp?

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!
