What is up with Scandinavia?

I mean come on, they're supposed to be the most civilized people in the world, but they lack humanity like a lot of characters in this movie. And please don't say, come on dude it's just a movie and all that, I'm not just talking about this movie, there are a lot of others, also there are some real life craziness going on there. Like that killer in Norway. I find this really interesting. After thinking about this topic and also having watched Evil, I now officially fear Scandinavian people the most.

This movie took place in the 50s. Things worked diffrent back then, honor was not the same as today.
