The Scene where the Girl is Forced to Eat Dirt.

this scene really mesmerized me, i was so curious as to what that dirt tasted like that i went outside and tasted a spoon full of dirt. it was awful, not even edible really.

You do realize that she was not actually eating dirt don't you? I cannot believe you went outside and put dirt in your mouth. Unbelievable

reply

Oh, what's the big deal? He/she was curious, that's all. I read somewhere that we all eat a certain amount of dirt in our lifetimes by chance anyway, so no harm done.

Like my grandma used to say whenever I dropped food on the ground - "God made dirt, so dirt can't hurt." I did question this logic, however, by pointing out that God also made rattlesnakes and fire ants.

I need my 1987 DG20 Casio electric guitar set to mandolin, yeah...

Just dump a package of dried beans into the kettle and notice how many little balls of dried dirt are mixed in. In the desert the dirt is largely just dried minerals like clay, unless there is a deposit of Arsenic rich ore or something it is just inert and will pass through. Much more humid climates have lot's of decaying organic matter in the soil and would be much yuckier to eat.

Try eating clams without cleaning them well.
That will give you an idea of how mouthful of dirt tastes.
To the 1st responder, how do you know she didn't use dirt in the movie?
Maybe she's a method actor.

reply

During times of famine in China, I've read that northern peasants would mix dirt with whatever meager food they had to eat, knowing that the dirt contained valuable minerals that their bodies needed.....

"Maybe she's a method actor. "
There is no way in hell that one can call that person an actor.
Just another pretty bimbo, whose time in movies will go when she starts to wrinkle.

Well I saw "Monsters inside me," and some people got some pretty nasty parasites from the dirt. Mostly came from animal feces.

It is actually not that uncommon for humans to willingly consume dirt. Pregnant women lacking iron(or just people with a SEVERE iron deficiency), are known to consume dirt, as it is a readily available and iron rich substance.

EDIT: In Haiti they eat dirt cookies.

Anyone here even noticed the OP's name? "ILikeDirt420". I find it ironic he joined in 2006 with that username and decided to make this post about 'dirt' in 2010.

This is obviously yet another weird IMDB sex fetish thread.
