In real life jailed suffarigists were whipped in jail as well as force fed. They endured brutal efforts to suppress them and refused to be broken. If it had been me I don't know if i could be that strong. KUDOS to those early feminists and the sacrifices they made for us. I am happy to say i voted in this election. Thanks to them for winning the right for me.

So true! Plus so much of what happened to them was probably not reported. I kept thinking about how today and with cell phones, everything that happened to them would be posted on youtube almost immediately and the uproar would happen so quickly. But these women took so much sh** and just carried on. Such heroes!
