Liz's real life not 'this bad'?

I've read Liz's book, and while her life was certainly very tough & some things in the film were true, a LOT of dramatic license was used here!
Liz was actually homeless for a rather short time, and she was not as 'innocent' as she was portrayed in the film. Or as alone. She had a LOT of friends, and they helped her incredibly.

The book is a difficult read, more because Liz is not the best writer. The book does not flow smoothly, and jumps around a lot.

Has anyone else read it?

"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Are you kidding? She's an amazing writer and the book proved her life was WORSE than shown, because she was also sexually abused by a creep her mom thought could be trusted, then treated disrespectfully by a few doctors along the way.

I agree. In had to stop reading at times it was so painful.

I'm currently reading her book and I actually think she's a very good writer. She's not trying to make things up and tell a story with a perfectly designed plot, she's writing about her real life and experiences and I think she did a fantastic job.
And I wouldn't say at all that the movie makes her life seem worse. I think some points may have been more exaggerated but other terrible, terrible things were actually left out of the movie.
