Poem at Mia's Grave?

I just saw this movie on TV and it had already started when I found it so I don't know how much I missed. What was the poem Guy read at Mia's grave? Did it have relevance to the beginning of the film (that I missed)? This is a rather old fashioned feeling movie even with the nudity.

I am also interested to know the poem recited by Guy (Stuart Townsend) at Mia's Grave. I would certainly appreciate the effort.

There is no second sight.
We grope towards our future blind.
It's kinder that way.
On the morning of her final day,
she came to her death clear-eyed...
brave, unknowing.
And when the snow melts, spring has come.
There is an end to war.
One small flower...
blessed, unique...
will flower no more.

At the grave, I thought the woman standing to the right of Guy (left on camera) was Mia. I only figured out later that it was Mia. But I think the woman looked like her, almost exactly.
