The opening...

This came on Family this past weekend, and I caught the opening. During the opening is a handdrawn cartoon naked little white guy... hate to ask this, but how did that get through on a Disney movie? I mean it sort of, oh gee, how to say this. Comes from the middle of the screen and towards the audience, sort of. I dodge this movie for the most part, but was real surprised when I saw that in the opening!? In 6 pages of comments, I haven't seen anyone else comment about this...

Here's what I think you are referring to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lovers#mediaviewer/File:RWS_Tarot_06_ Lovers.jpg

It's artistic nudity. There's nude stuff in public art museums. There are nude pixies in Disney's Fantasia (1940): https://trueclassics.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/frost-fairies-fantasia.jpg

I personally found the graphic human immolation at the end to be more offensive than the nudity.

As another individual stated, it's artistic nudity and since it doesn't depict anything suggestive I think it makes sense for Disney to have it in there. I remember seeing a Nostalgia Critic review of Fantasia and he pointed out how there's breasts in the one sequence, I can't remember the name but it was the sequence with the giant demon.

I was pretty young when I first saw Haunted Mansion and remember thinking "whoah, nudity!" when seeing the Tarot card for the first time but it didn't affect me negatively or anything at all. I actually thought the movie was gonna be pretty dark and mature considering we had nudity in the opening scene of a Disney movie about a mansion full of dead people. Regrettably that was not the case....

You mean the same scene in which a person is shown hanging himself? Isn't that more shocking?
