Grind.

I'm being pretty biased since Adam Brody is in it.
Lords of Dogtown is a good movie though.

Chad Fernandez is in Grind and Lords of Dogtown. But he's only in Lords of Dogtown for a split second. And like someone way up there said, you watch them for totally seperate reasons. The original documentary is better than LOD anyway.

I think Grind was better because it had free will. Lords of Dogtown was a true story so they couldn't really change it to make it all that funny.

You watch the two movies for two different reasons. You want a bit of history, drama and adult themes, see dogtown. If you want to sppreciate some pro skater cameos, funny lines and an easy story to follow, see Grind. The yare both top movies, for different reasons.

i love how tracey pelrata ( im like 90% sure ) wrote it and how its in the 70's cause im basiclly obsessed with the 70's .. but grind is awesome

the name is STACY Peralta dummy. anyways yeah the Lords of Dogtown was okay but I loved Grind because it was just so funny and fun to watch. I was rolling the whole time. I wish I had a friend like Matt... he is a non-stop boatload of fun on a Ship of fun.

dude i bet im the only REAL sk8r in this forum, dude ok Grind is awsome if u want real cameos, and something fun to watch bout sk8in, but lords of dogtown shows the roots of our sport, also they had to tweak the stacy peralta story a bit cause they could get it cause they would have to do a crap load of paperwork. they both rock tho

I think Lords of Dogtown is like one of the best movies ever. I havent seen Grind yet but i doubt it will match up w/ that great movie. Thats just my opinion.

Well that is your opinion as well. By witch we can tell that you are ignorant. Yes, Lords of Dogtown shows the roots of skateboarding, but Grind shows an entertaining, oversized look at the tour circuit. And the lack of plot is due to the fact that this is more about showing skating than the story, which by the way is funny as hell. It also is not some teeny-bopper film, most people I talk to have never heard of it or seen it, and I work for Blockbuster. So, next time take your head out of your @$$ and accept the things you cannot change, like people's opinions.

Fact: anyone who likes grind more than lords of dogtown has as much skateboarding experience as my sister. (for the record, my sister doesn't know how to ride a skateboard)

Grind is a poser movie for posers and complete idiots. Lords of Dogtown is a real skateboarding movie, about real skaters! Heck, even the romance and relationships is better in Lords of Dogtown, it is simply a better movie. The romance is realistic and enjoyable in Lords of Dogtown, in comparison, the "romance" in Grind feels forced, and is simply one dumb, loose chick after the other. If you have an average IQ or above, there's no way you can sit through Grind.

Grind or LODT?

Kind of a hard question to answer, seeing how Grind is a comedy and LODT is a Drama.

I liked Grind becuase it was a "stoopid comedy."

But I also liked LODT becuase it was a good movie. It was solid and had good acting, good soundtrack, and was very interesting too watch.

So, if I am looking to laugh, then I would say Grind is better, but I'm looking to see a good movie, then LODT is much better

These 2 movies are 2 of my all time favorites. I say that becuase I can watch them over and over and not get sick of them. So which is better? Well, Ive seen Grind literally about 150 times and could watch it 150 more and dogtown although its good it does start to wear thin after a long while. So I say grind.

Lords of Dogtown is a helluva lot better than Grind. And, people aren't realizing that there are cameos in LOD. I know that the 3 main Z-Boys (Stacy, Jay, and Tony), all make appearances and Tony Hawk makes an appearance. If you actually appreciate skateboarding, you would realize how much better LOD is than Grind. Also, it had a bit of everything. It was dramatic, violent, funny, sad, angering, everything. And what's with this guy saying it wasn't "realistic"? What's more realistic than a true story?

I think the better movie is Lord of Dogtown but I watch grind all of the time. Grind of one of the first movies I can say that my entire group of friends became obsessed with.

I COMPLETELY agree. Lords Of Dogtown, in my opinion, is the best movie EVER. I love how Tony Hawk plays an astronaut, lol. And even though he's not a skater, Mitch Hedberg has a tiny part in LOD as the eurethane wheels guy and I lovedddd that, cuzz he's the best comedian everrr.

You don't have to be a skater to appreciate Lords Of Dogtown because it portrays four real people [I say four because I think Skip Englomb has a lot to do with the movie too] and if you're a fan of the sport, you really appreciate what these boys did for it.

LOD was just loosly based on the zephyr team skaters it is by no means as informative as the dogtown and z boys documentary so i pick that over grind and LOD(respectively)

grind was alright but it is no match to lords of dogtown. LOD was more based on real thing and grind wa just for entertainment purposes. and grind, with the help of bam margera, are the sole responsibility of why there are a huge amount of kids in my school who dont even skate/can barely skate and just pose to be cool. it sickens me

Ok, that is not the smartest of questions to ask.
Just because there's teenagers and skateboarding in both of them it doesn't make them of the same type.
Grind is a comedy, the one you watch and know that probably skaters wrote it.
Lords of Dogtown is almost a drama. It's way more serious.
They are two entirely different films.
Could you compare the Haunted Mansion to the Sixth Sense?

I believe they are both really good in a totally different way.
Personally, I loved them both.
Grind is more easy to watch and I believe everyone would love it.
Lords of Dowgtown is of better quality, I'd say, but it's not the kind of movie you can watch over and over again.

How can you even COMPARE the two? The fact that you do shows that you don't skateboard at all. LOD is a true story about two of the most important skating pioneers on the planet. Grind is a goofy teenage story about goofy teenage kids, scoring chicks and trying to get famous. They may both be skateboarding movies, but would you compare The Matrix and a Steven Seagal flick? Why not? They're both action.

LOD all they way, i personally thought grind was ok but i enjoyed lords of dogtown alot more. also how does being a "real" skater mean anything we're comparing movies here, i dont skate but i do like it. i dont see how that would make my opinion on this film any less then someone who is a skateboarder
