destroyed every skaters reputation involved

first off this movie was terrible. any professional skater who agreed to be a part of this "movie" just completely sold out. i wanted to shoot ryan sheckler in the head and all the main characters. the writer and director just came up with a terrible script about something that would sell easy, so they picked something that a lot of teens are interested like skateboarding and ruined it for everyone. if you like this movie, i don't know what to say to you.

reply

it is said that the script was made up on the spot!

i dunno what to say about this flick...ok...but not Oscar worthy

reply

You're not looking at the big picture...this movie just advertised skating and now even more people are into it...

reply

well i liked it. it was more about the comedy of trying to be known than skateboarding. if it were more skateboarding and less boy antics, it would have just been a documentary and those are boring.

reply

I think you just have to take it for what it is... a pg-13, pre-teen movie with cute boys. Of course pg-13, pre-teen movies with cute boys, by definition usually suck! But what can you do? There's definitly worse movies out there.

One of my friends actually called Grind a new school version of Dazed and Confused! Can you believe that?

reply

I thought that it was just like dazed and confused also!! Sweet Lou is Wooderson all over again. and it didnt help that jason london was in it.

So Was Sasha Jenson ( i think his name is ) Don from Dazedand Confused.... the only resemblence to DnC could possibly be Wooderson...but man i liked this movie...it was funnny....sometimes.. lol.

I agree -- As a skateboarder for many years, I found this movie stupidly offensive and was dissappointed that any pro skater would have a part in this. Man, I hate Ryan Sheckler... he such a little twerp with lame style and an ugly mug. Its too bad he's such a good skater.

Movies like this are what continue to push the image that skating is "Exxxxtreme!!!" and "radical!!", which are total misnomers to anyone who actually pays attention to the actual world of professional skateboarding.

yea ive been skateing for 3 1/2 years (i completly suck) it took half a brain to write this and i dont think the writers are even skaters if you want to see a good skate movie with comedy go buy some actul skate vids DVS skatemore is good but the whole plot of the movie is totaly ilogical the opening skate montage his board is just fine hes doing tricks that would easly get him sposerd from a small town shop and alot of the time if you show off for a pro they know it and think ur only lookin for a sponser and wont egknoledge ur existance im plannig on asking the owner of 3rd lair(biggest skateparkin minnesota)if hed be willing to help me get some pros for a documentary takeing you though wat it takes to get to the top

yea i have sh!tty grammar p!ss off

reply

idk about you, but I though this movie was really cool. Seeing all those moves performed on t.v, made me become a better skater. Follow your dreams dude, follow your dreams...

reply

i loved this movie, screw you guys. there are a few flaws one which is that the girl was out there skating and the only two tricks she did were noseslide and boardslide... both which i can do. another flaw is that these kids werent even ams and they were doing some of the sickest moves ever.

reply

this movie is awesome i skate and i loved it although i agree the guy at the shop would have sponsored him no doubt seeing his moves at the beginning the reason they werent even "am" is because i believe a quote from the movie "we skate better than half those guys anyway" (they were talking about pro's)

reply

god you are dumb

the plot is awesome and all the skaters in it did not sell out

they are just doing there stuff on screen

PLUS!! most of the skaters in the movie were the stunt doubles for the main charecters and so the director just gave them a part in the movie!

DDRRRRRRRR

reply

the plot has been used 10,000,000 times before, you must be new to movies

you guys are going to deep into it.....its a *beep* movie

reply

please do not compare dazed and confused with grind. and can someone please explain to me how the skaters are not sell outs even though they were whoring out their talent to a mainstream hollywood movie? theres a difference between making a skate video than being a stunt double to some idiot who doesn't know how to skateboard. grind gave a very wrong message to kids making them think that skateboarding is all about the money and fame.

reply

I absoultly HATE skating, but Grind was very funny.

see that's the kind of single minded bollox you can expect from passive audiences! open your mind and see the bigger picture...firstly:it wasn't a movie just about skateboarding. secondly:you're just bitchin cause you cant skate half as well as they did in the movie...and yeah ok they made something that would sell...they arent gonna make something thats not gonna sell are they!!! tit!

reply

its funny to see these "skaters" come on here and complain about how it gave skaters a bad name, and they probably cant do an ollie even. If you just roll around town go crawl into a corner. This movie was made to be funny and it came out that way. People take things WAY to seriously these days, lighten up and look around you for about a minute
