A pleasant surprise

Who would have thought that Johnny KNoxville could hold his own as a serious actor. He was GREAT! A great casting job across the board, down to the bit parts. A surprisingly sharp and funny script, and supurbly directed. I am really excited to see where this little powerhouse is going to go. Kudos on a great writing/ directing/ acting vehicle. A must see whether you are a musical historian or looking for a joy ride. I didn't know that you could actually steal a body, but Phil Kaufman did. Who'd a thunk it?

Yeah I agree that Knoxville did a good job but it definitely wasn't a dramatic role. He was good in it because Kaufman was a real sarcastic guy and Knoxville can play that role, it's not much a stretch. All in all it was a surprisingly entertaining movie. I did enjoy how much everybody disliked the hippy just on appearance alone and the conversations between him and knoxville were pretty funny.

that's where most of the fun of the movie came from, for me--the conversations between johnny knoxville and michael shannon (didja see him in Jesus' Son?). for days on end now, whenever people badger me with questions (i'm a bartender), i answer "shut up with asking stuff."

"we are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams..."
