Where in Joshua Tree?

Supposedly Gram wanted to be cremated at Cap Rock in Joshua Tree. Were his friends able to grant his wish?

reply

Sort of. He was indeed burned at Cap Rock but not completely cremated. They left him burning and he only partially cremated. There was about 35 pounds left of him that was sent back to New Orleans to be buried.

Kauffman should have used diesel gasoline instead of 'high test' gasoline. Diesel is not as explosive as gasoline and burns a little more gradually allowing whatever is being burn a better chance to catch on fire.

I did some small logging and clearing operations about 30 years ago and we always started slash burns with diesel. One time we only had gasoline and it ignited in an explosive way and was gone pretty quickly, not getting the slash burn going well.

I'm sure he wanted to give Gram 'the best' though. Functionality be screwed.

Let's never come here again because it would never be as much fun.
