First PERFECT movie I've ever seen.

I'm a huge movie fiend, but I always usually have something bad to say. This movie blew me away. I'm not usually one for australian movies if they seem fake, but this just seemed so genuine. This movie was great. I don't know what that crack junkie saying it was the worst movie ever, was talking about, because this is great. It literally made me want to do the same thing, of course common sense and fear turned me off to the idea. Too bad.

yeah i thought it was a good movie. it was very cute predictable but cute. it made me smile. makes you want to take the time out and find true happiness in your life.

reply

Yep. But somehow if I were to get in a chair and float off and land in a town, I doubt I'd find true love. :D

reply

Why do people love this movie so much? It's utterly predictable and ordinary.

reply

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was PERFECT. It was cute, but it wasn't Citizen Kane or anything. Just saying.

reply

it's nowhere near being a perfect film, but i liked it a lot. it was VERY predictable, but it was good. i wasn't blown away though...

What is a "perfect movie" anyway?

i don't know. that all depends on the person i guess.

reply

I agree: it does depend on the person.

I love this movie so much. I have no idea why (okay, so I have some ideas-the whole floating away from your sucky life thing is pretty great) but every time I watch it I just get the best feeling. Even if it was a bit predictable. Hm.

It may not be perfect, but it's pretty high up there.

reply

Why can't you people who don't like this movie just enjoy it for what it is: A feel-good movie. It doesn't matter if it is predictable or not. It's supposed to make you feel good.

Namaste, and good luck.

reply

i can't say why i like this movie so much. whenever it's on tv i watch it. over and over. i never get sick of it. maybe i like rhys ifans or something. he's just so cute and befuddled.

reply

Here's another movie watcher who really, really enjoyed it. I'm 26 & male and it still touched me, wow :) Rhys is fantastic, so unpredictable actor.. If there isn't a perfect movie, this was 99% of it.

Ditto !!!

I miss Big Band music and talented singers. Leonard Cohen is my idol. Civility, harmony, unity!

I had seen this on my channel guide several times but thought it was probably junk from the title so I passed. Obviously that was a horrible snap judgement. Yesterday I thought why not give it a look.

I was totally enthralled by the movie, just loved it. Like others have said, it made me wistfully think about how idyllic it would be to live in a quaint rural town down under - if you found your soul mate as these two quite attractive people did.

I gave it 8 stars but almost went 9 it was that good.

reply

This movie is so predictable, and as light weight as the balloons that carry Danny away.

Starts with some promise and then plummets into wish fulfillment mediocrity.

For dreamers who don't like to be challenged.

"What's truth got to do with it?"
"What's truth got to do with anything?"

reply

The film was good but I couldn't get around a missing man being a major news yet the tv station doesn't bother to show his picture?? So it was not perfect.

Just for the record, I'm not a Dude, I'm a Dudette!
