Rhys Ifans....a far cry from Notting Hill

I thoroughly enjoyed Rhys Ifans in Notting Hill and the other movies I have seen him in. but, he always played such odd characters and that is what I expected when I brought home "Danny Deckchair". Even at the beginning with the wild hair and scruffy beard, he seemed as though he were type cast.
Then, Shazaam! Hair cut, shave, nice suit, and one great looking guy. And, he has put on weight. He is no longer this skinny dude with a little pot belly. In fact, he looks great. I just enjoy watching his expressions and his expressive eyebrows. He says more with his eyebrows that does Jack Nicholson, and uses more variety of emotions with those eyebrows.

He played the nice dependable guy in Vanity Fair... kinda heroic.

Yeah, he was great in this. At first I thought he was going to be another masturbating Welshman, but not so.

Also, he has provided the best example of an Aussie accent I have ever heard. He really nailed it.

When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

I think you should pick up Pirate Radio.

He is different in that as well.
