I read all these good reviews about this movie on imdb.com....mostly from gays that said they saw this movie at a gay festival...and i was going to give this movie a shot b/c there are some hardbodies in it...but...this movie was so stupid i had to turn it off after about 10 min. of watching it...all of you out there that gave it a good rating only did so b/c it was about gay people. I cant believe this has over a 6.0 on the scale.

Give me a break! You assume that it got a good rating because of "all the gay people", did you even consider that maybe they JUST LIKED IT, gay or straight??? People will like or dislike something... so like or dislike it, but don't chalk it up to the gay population.
I hated American Pie, I just thought it was too slap stick for my taste. If someone did like it, good for them... it just wasn't my type of humor. Now if I went off and started saying that the only reason it did good in the box office is because of all the straight people who saw it and saw it only because there were straight people in it... how stupid would I look?
Agreed such comments would be stupid. But equally stupid are the attempts at describing this as in any empowering or as some kind of breakthrough.
...that goes for American Pie to . Btw , if people ( gay or straight ), think this is some kind of acheivment in gay comedy , they havent been paying attention to some of the fine films the communtity has made.

I believe (at least on my part) that the people are here just because they enjoyed the movie, nothing more/nothing less. Yes, this movie is not a breakthrough but it is empowering. Any movie is empowering as long as an audience member can take something away from it.
And who said this was some wonderful gay achievement in comedy? Can't it just be a comedy?
And I have been paying attention at some of the "fine films" the community has made, and D.E.B.S is by far my favorite.

Well, if you go beyond the shallow end of it, it's also about following your heart and loving who you want to love (regardless of what anyone else says).
And if this movie made you want to find the shortest mini skirt, fight crime and kiss other women... then maybe they are right. Some people are way too weak to think and feel for themselves.
I think your comments are spot on.. maybe a little bit too mature for those readers to understand... hence all there cheesy comments.
I personally haven't seen anything in connection to D.E.B.S, however i was told by a friend to watch the movie.. Which i still plan to do, once i find out where i can get it from. lol
But... If i think its crap.. I wont come on here and make up rubbish about how only gay people voted for it etc.. Like i wouldn't sit through coach carter... and then say... it got a good rating because loads of black people voted for it.

actually I confess, I saw the 2004, not the 2003. Planning on buying DVD this comes on (Girls on tape or something) so I can see the 2003 short verison.

Aust? Would that be the hassle of getting the right region DVD for Australia, or Austin, Texas where getting this DVD could get you lynched by your neighbors? (actually I've heard Austin is one of the more progressive places in Texas...)

I absolutely loved the feature film. It was brilliant and hilarious and sexy and funny. everythign that you want in a film. Not to mention, Jordana Brewster is so hot. I digress. It was sorta witty, but other than that the short was nothing special. It was a little rushed, and yes I know, its a "short" but they could have gone another minute or so. And there was no resolution or no character change. They were still on page one when it ended, which is boring. I dont know why this was picked up to be extended but DAMN im glad it was.
