I really loved this movie, but I have one question that someone may be able to answer--what exactly was the conflict between Chris and Annie, especially when they were walking through the movie lot? Did I miss something? I know Annie was still grieving, but couldn't quite understand why there was a conflict? Anybody?
shareIt wasn't so much a conflict as a combination of unhappy feelings on Annie's part. She resented that Chris had a husband and didn't seem to appreciate him as she should. She was upset that Chris left her child when he was in need of her. Mostly, she was annoyed that Chris was making this all about Chris, seemingly forgetting Annie's pain and the reason this all started.
Haven't you ever gotten something you wanted so badly, only to realize that you'd give it all up for something you want even more, but can't ever have?
No one is better than Helen Mirren at making annoying characters so compelling that you want to love them in spite of themselves.
