Chris's husband was a bit too dismissive over their sons embarrassment

Did anyone else think in the movie that Chris's husband was a a little unfairly dismissive of their son being embarrassed by his mother taking part in the calendar shoot? He was teenage boy after all and when you're fellow schoolmates can be dicks. And it's not just the boys, girls can be pretty cutting as well. No doubt once the shoot was finished and the inevitable media exposure etc. of Calendar had dyed down the kids would have eventually stopped. Sure, his son should have been more proud of her her but at the same time when you're a kid (as it is any time) it's not nice having other kids potentially calling your mother an old slapper, tart or whatever. Did his father even ever potentially wonder about the fights he could have ended up getting in to as a result? There's not many males that wouldn't punch another to defend their mother's honour so to speak.
