Hilarious

Now, I am generally a pretty harsh critic of comedies, but honestly I found this film hilarious. Of course it isn't necessarily a superb film as far as the story goes although for me it's more than enjoyable, but the comedy is marvellous. I hadn't enjoyed a comedy film (other than shaun of the dead, possibly some others too) released recently for a very long time.

I think it is highly underrated, I mean it's rated 5.2 which would make it almost a bad film, which I find ridiculous. Let's look at some other comedies: American Pie - 6.8? I mean, I know it started the new 'teen' movies which actually are awful, and I enjoyed it but it was not incredibly funny.

This had elements of very good British comedy, and the relationship between Ray Speight and Cliff Starkey was brilliant. My favourite parts are when ray gets in the limo ad cliff says 'I didn't think you'd come' and ray replies 'oh, I'm an englishman' and when they come back in for the second part of the match soaked I thought that was marvellous. The way the Uk bowls committee go around cleverly trying to make their money amused me too. It had some brilliant quotes and on the whole the acting by most of the characters wasn't bad, it wasn't exactly cringeworthy.
