It's amazing anybody is left alive in Bradfield!
As the series progresses, it creates it's own kind of plot hole - would a city as dangerous as "Bradfield" have everybody streaming out of the city?

shareI've thought the same, but if we had to wait a realistic amount of time it would be a very long series, eh?

lol..my SO loves the show but he finds it amusing that this little city of Bradfield attracts all these elaborate serial murders..
shareThis is the one thing that makes this a four star show instead of a five star show. There are several things that I have a hard time suspending disbelief on. All these serial killers in a relatively small town is a big one. Plus, it's not necessary. Every episode didn't have to be a serial killer. If there were that many high profile serial killings in any on town anywhere in the world, even over a period of time, I think people would demand the place be quarantined or burned to the ground.
shareHow about Agatha Christie's Miss Marple? Everywhere that old broad goes someone is murdered. Coincidence or is Miss Marple a serial killer who cleverly creates evidence and points the finger at an innocent person?
I agree. Both Marple and Poirot are serial mass murderers. If you read closely, you can see they both use subliminal suggestion to make those who she or he deems guilty believe they are guilty. Christie always gets the last laugh!
shareHow many people got murdered in and around Oxford during Chief Inspector Morse's career? Somebody must have counted them all.

This is very true but if you look at S2 they did actually try to vary the plots a bit and the results weren't actually very good IMO. There's a sense in the following series of the programme makers returning to what they were good at, despite it being quite limiting.

Bradfield must have the highest number of serial killers in the world. I previously thought evil Adelaide in South Australia had the most serial killers per person.
I once spent a week in Adelaide one night.
Sadelaide is pretty bad. And so is the Pacific Northwest of the US. But this Bradfield, won't catch me on holiday there.
shareI went to Adelaide once.... it was closed.
