Kids used for 'fanservice'

This message board is basically not used at all, so I thought I'd start a sort of debate.

In New Zealand where I live Mahoromatic series one has been released on DVD and I own it. When watching it I noticed there was a bit of fanservice in this anime, particually of Ms Shikijo and Mahoro, but none of Suguru's friends, the 'Triomatic'. I thought this would be because they are so young (They look around 13, 14), and they might have not been aloud or something, but I saw the first episode of the second series on the internet, and they went hard out on the fanservice of young girls! Personally I don't care, because

1. It's animated.
2. It's just nudity, no hardout sexual situations or anything.
3. It's not really a big deal. They have heaps of rape-porn in japan and that is really disgusting, even if it is animated. This is just nudity.

BUT that is my opinion and maybe other people have problems with nudity of animated kids. It is sometimes kinda sexual and because it's "fanservice", yes, they are being used as sex objects, to turn people on. That's what fanservice is. Do I think it's bad? Not really, no big deal to me but does everyone have the same opinion? maybe this will start a "flame war" or something. Flame wars are stupid, but sometimes fun to read, ha.

Anyone who says that Frasier is the smartest show on television hasn't seen Evangelion.

Yes I agree with you Tyrantxd, as long as its animated it really shouldn't matter. Its just a visual representaion of young girls doing innocent 'things' to turn on fans of the show. Even if it was hardcore sex or rape its just a cartoon and should not be taken seriously.
Its like banning Evangelion because a character that looks like a fourteen year-old is decapitated.

Animation is just an abstract thought physically imprinted on paper.

I still think its kind of wrong when people sit down and watch people getting raped for "entertainment", even if the person isn't real.

I completely understand what you're saying, but you can’t really blame someone for being entertained by something, even if its somthing as horrible as rape. People can find pretty much anything amusing and they should have the right to watch as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.

Think about it, even if you delete every image of murder from every movie, T.V. show, and book, it is not going to stop murder from happening.

Yeah but you sound normal.... people in japan are just weird, rape is like... i dunno. they just love the stuff, ever seen hentai? wow... but the whole mahoromatic thing? doesnt bother me, the kids arent used that much anyway, mahoro is 18, and she gets the most nudity. it was a good anime with a decent story anyway, not just a show with no excuses for nudity (Looking at your girls bravo) so its alright.
