When's this coming out?

I just saw the world premiere, so I suppose that makes it technically out now.

I don't even come close to knowing how to describe what it's about. It's sort of a murder mystery only without the murder (till the end, anyways, and by then the mystery is cleared up.) There's a woman with an attacker, but you don't know why she was attacked. I thought it was pretty interesting.

As to the book - it's possible you're confused (as I was, for a bit) by the similarity of titles and some details. There is a best-selling book called Shutter Island, by Dennis Lehane (who also wrote Mystic River and many others. It's quite a good book, and there really are a lot of plot elements that are shared with this movie: an island, a major storm that knocks out power and ferry service, a mysterious murder, law enforcement characters and both came out in 2003. One difference: the book has no sex to speak of. This movie is definitely not a Lehane story, though it does "... make me say hmm..."
