Since When Did the Rugrats Become So Gross?

I noticed in the last 2 Rugrats movies (Go Wild and Paris) that the babies have gotten grosser. I'm talking farts, pooping, spit bubbles, slobber, snot, etc. I mean, the Rugrats have always had some potty humor, and in my opinion, that's what made them charming. But the difference between then (earlier seasons, pre-season 4) and these movies is subtledy.

Now, I'm all for potty humor when it's funny, but it seems like with these movies, they were just being gross for the sake of being gross. It's a little off-putting.

What do you guys think?

I love cats.

I have noticed that too. It seemed to me once Dil showed up they cranked the potty humor up to level 11.

It's not just Rugrats; Nickelodeon likes to do this with *all* of their animated films. Personally, even as a child, I always found it really annoying because I knew it definitely would not be approved by my parents and then I had to hear about it for years on end (I still do and I'm twenty-two now...). So what I want to know is what makes them think it'd be great entertainment for the over-the-top potty humor exclusively in the theater knowing all the parents would have to sit through it, too? They're the ones paying after all.

You got what you wanted but you lost what you had.

Phil is the worst with the gross factor, he eats bugs, so nasty!

Back in the 90's gross-out humor was the norm. Grunge bands were all the rage. So why are y'all complaining?
