ever think ppl take films too seriously?

After reading some of the boards I have come to the conclusion that some people take films wayyyyy too seriously. I mean its meant to be a simple girly "chick flick" love story..not actually about Denmark and the monarchy or anything like that so people who were offended by the film..why? i mean they didnt even get into it all that much and british ppl are often portrayed as stuck up tight asses but I dont complain about it

True...it is based loosely on the true story of the crown prince and princess though.....

I think people need to take it at the simplicity of the story- its a lovely story...

reply

For real? It's loosely-based on the crown princess and princess of Denmark?

reply

No, crown PRINCE and Princess, not Princess and Princess. And it's extremely loosly based on it, as in it's basicly just the whole "commoner marries royalty" cliché that fits, in other words it's not based on it at all really since if that were the case you could say the same about a bunch of Disney-cartoons already.

Wow, so many years ago I was out to space and wrote "princess and princess". Thanks for catching it. I'm not sure any royal family would allow same-sex marriage for their family, since it came up by accident by my typo. The royal blood can't officially be passed on.

There are gay/lesbian Royalty but none that are set to inherit any throne.

I think that all the time. They did it with both film and television.

reply

Amen to that.

I'm not even from either Denmark or Wisconsin and *I'm* offended.

no the Danes take offence if their country is portraied wrong, very proud of their country, whilst in the UK we dont give a damn about being portrayed as stuck up tight arses, well as few might winge

There are many boards on IMDB where British people complain about how their country and their people etc. are portrayed incorrectly/wrong.

Boy, you're not kidding!! You want to read some posts of people who take movies WAY too seriously, go to the boards for THE WIZARD OF OZ, BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE, MARY POPPINS, and TRAINING DAY.

reply

Yeah they do, it's just a cutesy romcom, it doesn't portray Danish people negatively, so I do think people gots to lighten up.
