stu pollard rocks

i got to meet stu when he came to my college to show this movie and he seems like an awesome, down-to-earth guy. i think he will do some great things in the movie industry.

reply

Yes, he is a very cool guy.

If THIS piece of crap is anything to go by, I think he should re-evaluate his career choice. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, if not THE WORST.

reply

I'm sorry you hated the movie so much. While Keep Your Distance certainly has its problems, it's far from the worst thing I have ever seen (!) and I can appreciate the difficulty of writing, directing, and producing your own film. I think the problems with KYD lie with the script, not the direction or production values. I would like to see what Stu Pollard could do with a script like "Sideways" or "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" - both fantastic screenplays turned into award-winning lower-budget films.

This movie sucked...

vanessabeth1 is Stu Pollards wife (well ex wife now)

Stu talks the talk but he DOES NOT WALK THE WALK

*** I think the problems with KYD lie with the script ***

Vanessabeth1: Stu Pollard wrote the script. If the direction is poor, you blame the scriptwriter? What's the difference in this case. Since Stu was the man, he has to take the blame.

I enjoyed watching the movie because I live in Louisville, but I have to say that Stu tried to do too much. Too many "main" characters. Too many love interests. Too many plotlines that went nowhere. Perhaps Stu had two or three plotlines but only one movie bankroll and figured he had to cram them all in here. Unfortunately, it didn't work out.

I expect better results the next time.

As someone who worked on the film, I can agree, yes he did.

reply

No, this movie is without a doubt horrible. Stu Pollard is good at giving speeches, but not at writing movies.
Blah, the thing that makes me most sick is all of the cronyism going on. This movie is crap, it was well produced, but it is utter crap in every other sense.
