My fave part was the scene at the end when Pinhead addressed the
Deaders and said "this world obviously disappoints you, so let me
finish waht he started" and then the chains came and went right
through the them.

This is who we are

The end credits. I love parts 1-4 but I was so glad to see this one end. They've have sucked hard since part 4.

Don't wander into abandoned churches for Czakyr will grab you from underneath the watery grave.

I totally agree with midnight_wanderer.
This one just plain sucked!
Why is Clive Barker allowing people to "taint" this series? 1-2 were amazing, 3 was really good and 4 was good because of the back story. After that they all went to Hell, in a bad way!!

Would this movie had "sucked" as you say if it wasn't tied in with the Hellraiser story? Because the writer of credit didn't write a Hellraiser script, he wrote a script called Deader. The studio blended in the Hellraiser aspect.

Actually, yes, it would have sucked anyway. Blending it with Hellraiser most likely helped it to at least be bearable.

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

When Amy Klein is going to see the leader of the Deaders. She's wedged in between the walls, with the knife, the roaches...one of the creepiest, most viscerally uncomfortable sequences in modern horror. There's many great scenes, though; I think "Deader" is a great film.

It' have to be Winter's demise. The moment every Hellraiser fan has bee waiting for since the first film. It's shocking to realise this is only the second time we've had a full chaining after Frank in the original.

The big scene with Amy, the Deaders, and the Cenobites.

Hopelessly in love with Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Emmy Rossum

my favorite part is when she's screaming at him "You bastard! You did this to me!" and he's just like "I can assure you that is not *my* handiwork"

The truth is out there

But then Pinhead would say a simialr thing in a simialr situation. And the "I am the way" is an obvious reference but in this case actually has an important meaning in the plot. It's not just a random comment its "There is no way back but through me. I am your redeemer. I am the way". He is her only way to escape Winter (except, as we realise, death is the other alternative).

When I saw that scene, I flashed back to Fat Bastard addressing Felicity in Austin Powers 2....."I've got bigger titties than you!"

I didn't "say" anything.

But you probably agree with everything I "typed" about Kari having an ironing board for a chest. And we thank *you* for your support!

I cannot concur with anything you have typed thus far in your ridiculous and immature discourse.

"Ridiculous" and "Immature" from the guy who said....

I'm gonna go with Kari Wuhrer naked as the best scene.

With all the other parts of the movie with substance to like, you get your jollies from a girl flashing a chest that has all the endowment of a plate.

Pot. Kettle. Black, slappy. Maybe in 5 years, you can go to the "adult" section of the video store instead of trolling B-horror movies looking for ta-tas.

Playful is not the same as immature, just as childish and childlike are not the same.

Last time I checked, talking about seeing grown women naked and expressing your happiness about it, as your response pretty much was "I saw breasts! I saw breasts!", is called "immature". Me going along with your immaturity was me being "playful". Also, being "playful" isn't crying when someone doesn't share your vaunted opinion.

Grow up, and learn the difference.

You first, sparko.

my favorite part of deader was the extras, its rare to hear doug bradley doing commentary on the hellraiser series, and plus we get to see pinhead die by the hands of his own army in "No More Souls" which i guess gary tunnecliff did when he was bored that day. too bad he didnt bring back all the cenobites in that short, it wouldve been cool to see all the cenobites that pinhead has made along the way take a stab at pinhead, and another thing, how come pinhead just didnt tear himself apart with his hooked chains? i wouldve thought that would remedy the suffering he longed for.

reply

Well, I thought the scene on the video tape of the chick being brought back to life was pretty well done, as was Kari trying to pull the knife out in the bathroom. Everything else sucked, so I'd say the ending credits makes my top 3 moments in this movie.

reply

Jeez... some people bi*ch constantly about the gore in the later films and as soon as Deader offers up the goriest msot extreme chainign sequence since the original no one gives that any credit.....

My favorite part as well. Kari Wuhrer is beautiful and amazing

"Rescuing you and your people. Can't really say its our primary objective" - Daniel Faraday

"The little girl and the picture she draws. Little children have the potential to be extremely creepy"

A scene which was ruined by a director who thinks quick, flashy MTV style editing is in some way equivalent to good film making. Sorry, it isn't. There was nothing creepy about it, and DC Comics should sue for Hellraiser: Deader stealing the artistic image of Two-Face from Batman and putting a wig on him.

Yes, this scene was a winner. Also the scene she finds the cube and the covering of the blood trail in the subway.
Sucky movie, but had some really inspired scenes.

That about sums up every Hellraiser movie made after part 4. They just never spent enough time after that with the series to do anything worthwhile. In fact most sequels after 4 weren't even Hellraiser scripts but scripts shelved that were bought on the cheap and transposed into Hellraiser films and poorly.
