I really loved this one!!

Many people really don't care for Hellraiser Inferno, Hellraiser Hellseeker, Hellraiser Deader, and Hellraiser Hellworld. I will admit that Hellworld was a little out there, but the others were not bad in my eyes at all.
Most viewers compare these movies to the first four. You must think of them as a different series altogether, and forget about the others. For what they are worth, I think they are great movies. I especially loved Inferno, and Deader. Not so much the other two.

It depends who you talk to. Amongst Hellraiser fandom, especially older fandom who were also into the comics, Inferno onwards aren't seen as that seperate. Generally, Inferno, hellseeker and Deader have gotten more positive feedback amongs the fanbase than Parts 3 and 4... although almost no one likes Hellworld.

Parts 5-7 are more like the first two than Parts 3 and 4; trhey all focus on human main characters, they all feature Pinhead and the Cenobites in the background and they all touch on the notion of pleasure as pain.

You must think of them as a different series altogether - *beep* that! They were sequals to the original just like the first three. Are you saying they should just forget about the first one entirely? If your making a sequal your aim should always be to make it better than the original.

Seeing as Deader and Hellworld weren't even Hellraiser scripts to begin with, they sure aren't true sequels. The director sat on those scripts without getting any support to make the movies. The "brilliant" idea popped up to add some cenobites and the Lament box into the scripts and sell them as Hellraiser scripts. Said and done, some money came in and the scripts turned into movies.

Hellworld was a very cheesy horror movie to begin with. Adding cenobites to it just made it into a turd.

Deader was actually somewhat creepy and atmospheric to begin with. If it had been a movie on it's own legs it would've fared a lot better. Now they ruined it somewhat by adding cenobites to the script.

Imho none of the movies after Hellraiser 3 were "great" or "good" movies. They got progressively worse.

Most of this is just wrong and not at all how films are even made. The director for one thing had little to no imput into what stories were chosen. The Weinsteins at Dimension were in charge. ONLY Deader was a script that didn't get made, and it was a producers decision to rew-write it. Which is was, they weren't just "inserted" thew script was re-written, the entire last thirds is pretty much original. And this was after it was decided. Hellworld wasn't even a script, just a story idea someone had written. And the producers asked for ideas for another story and the idea was suggested, but as Hellraiser, by its writing, and thus got done. The moneyw as already there, they were sent to Romania by Dimension to make TWo films but only had Deader prepped, hellworld was entirly devised and done in two weeks.

The worst part about Deader was the main character's awful one liners. Ex. to the guy hitting on her in the office, after a long buildup she says "Eheh, MAYBE NOT" like it was the most acerbic, biting rejection in cinema history.

That atmosphere on the other hand wasn't bad at all and I even liked some of the other performances. I thought Joey stood out.

Sorry in advance for the reply to the six year old post...

What a lovely way to burn...

This movie was great, better than Hellraiser 3, I'll give a chance to Inferno and the others because of this movie.

I just finished watching this film, and I agree that it was a good entry in the Hellraiser series. Hellworld seemed too excited about appealing to young hipsters.

Oh ... hello, Buster. Here’s a candy bar. No, I’m withholding it. Look at me, “getting off.”
