Halloween

I'm not sure if that's the exact order of the other 4, but it's all good.

wishmaster? freddy vs jason? ringu? WTF is wrong with you people? I liked those movies too, but BEST horror movies of all time? Come on....

TCM was a good mention, Halloween as well.......anyone ever seen that little film called The Exorcist? I dunno, maybe Night Of The Living Dead? Now if the question was what are YOUR FAVORITE horror films, thats different. My favorite films sometimes differ from what I consider to be the best horror films of all time.

American Psycho isn't horror, and it's actually a great movie. It has a few things to say about the '80's American yuppie culture of greed which seems lost on a few. American Psycho II, on the other hand, is pure Hollywood money-making trash.

reply

My top five are

1. White Noise
2. The Grudge
3. The Haunting
4. The Exorcist
5. The Sixth Sense

reply

Off the top of my head, they are probably something like this:

The Thing (the Kurt Russell remake)
Omen
Exorcist
Scream
The Fog

I'm not sure about the Fog being on there, and Omen covers parts 1-3. I consider them to be one big story. What about The Stand... is that considered Horror? If so, then it's definitely on there as well.

I loved The Thing. It's a study in paranoia.

reply

Yeah, The Thing is great. Not only is it a study in paranoia but on
how isolation affects people
My top-five in strict order

1 Dawn of the Dead
2 Hellraiser
3 The Thing
4 Candyman
5 Evil Dead II

Some things has to be endured...
