I liked that guy's little poem:

I've been to Naas, an awful place;
Kilcock was just as bad.
But of all the places I have known -
Eff me, Kinnegad!

What's wron gwith Kinnegad? Anyone from there or been there?

I just finished watching this; where in the film did that poem come in?

The poem was recited into the microphone by the MC of the competition, to test it. It would have been in the latter part of the film.

Thanks! I still have the film on my DVR, so I can catch that part again.

Sorry I have no clue as to your question. No doubt it's some variation on local rivalries, much as NYC likes to put down NJ.

A little bit more info...I listened again, and after getting the following, did some Googling.

The town of Naas is a terrible place;
