Filmed in Isle of Man not Ireland!!

which is a bit of a shame in my opinion!

reply

Actually alot of it was filmed in my village (Waterfoot) and two villages in the nearby area, (Glenarm and Carnlough) All three villages are on the North East coast of Antrim.

Besides, the film was funded by the Isle of Man Film's!

The Isle of Man must be great - - - -they also filmed Waking Ned Devine there but had the audience believe it was Ireland as well. Perhaps it has more tax breaks.

reply

because it would have been tooooo expensive to film it in the south !!!

reply

the tax breaks that allowed for cheap location filming in the south of ireland were reduced toward the end of the 1990's. The Isle of Man film board saw its opportunity and enticed alot of productions to use their locations.

Just watching this and have seen waking Ned, and believe me I was fooled! Agree with the other two posters though County Antrim is so beautiful. I went back in 09, having not visited NI before as I thought maybe a Brit might not be so welcome sorry if that sounds silly I think it was just that way for awhile. I also visited Derry a great city. The scenery in Antrim equals that of the South to which I visit whenever money permits.
