Based on an old German movie?

About 35 years ago, I remember watching a German comedy with English subtitles about two villages fighting each other to win the local music festival and at the end both bands rush the stage and start playing their songs at the same time and unwittingly fuse into one and win as one band. I haven't seen The Boys & Girl from County Clare but it sounds very similar. Does anyone know the name of the German movie I am referring to?
