I'm not a huge fan of the tons of remakes that Hollywood has been churning out... has anyone ever heard of an original idea anymore? It seems like all we have are remakes and sequels in the theater. Anyway, I hope that this remake lives up to the original. Can't Buy Me Love wasn't the best 80's teen movie ever, but it was humorous, featuring a young Patrick Dempsey and an extremely young and goofy looking Seth Green. Nick Cannon in a huge afro looks fairly silly. I wish that they hadn't renamed the title the same thing as a dumb and old J.Lo song, though.

Oh, and they've got to do the African tribal dance from the original, or something along those lines. That is the best and funniest part!

i know!it toally sucks of the title change...most people are going to be like,oh look,they are copying the old j.lo song..sh!t i dunno about you,but i would love to go,hi,can i please get 2 for the Cant Buy Me Love showing at 10 o clock?instead of hi can i get 2 for the showing of love dont cost a thing showing at 10 o clock?stupid stupid,but hey,if you look at both titles,they kinda keep the same idea,but im thinkin,if the title is different wouldnt this make it kinda a sequel?

they didn't change their name so its the same thing as j-lo song..they change their title of the movie because it sounded more like the original movie title.

Whether it is named Love Don't Cost a Thing because of the J.Lo song or not, the coincidence still irks me a little. Just a pet peeve, I suppose.

Well I agree with the majority on this thread...I liked "can't buy me love" the movie and the song....Oh and yes, the Beatles WERE the greatest band of all time *wink*. This movie just seems like a way to make a quick buck with the teen crowd. No thought, no imagination, nothing new...hope my teen doesn't want to go see it!! Maybe this is how my parents felt about the movies I went to see as a teen!!!

Yeah, but I betcha that song is featured prominently. Just like Can't By Me Love was featured in Can't Buy Me Love!

The only problem with J. Lo is that she keeps buying love!! She just does with an alimony cheque...

obviously the reason why they don't use the same title is that it would cost to much. Useing the title of that song would probably blow any budget they have.

I havent seen this movie yet, and i probably wont ever see it. but i love cant buy me love; its the greatest movie ever....i have just one ques on the remake: do they do the african anteater ritual?!?!!????
