Ok, Nick Cannon is the geek.
He gets ignored.
Tells everyone the fine girl is his woman, gets confidence because of this and becomes popular.
However, in doing so, he becomes someone other them himself.

The moral is, be yourself?

YEAH!!! OK!!!

Let's face it, he had been himself for 16 years, you see where that got him.

Yeah. That part of the story has been used many times in other movies; a geeky kid gets popular, then starts alienating his other geeky friends because all the attention has gotten to his head. The word cliche comes to my mind when I think about the plot.
