I think this remake is better

I saw "Love Don't cost a Thing"

Then went back and watched the original. The original didn't make sense in several ways, and certain scenes made me cringe (like the part where she announces she's a 1000 dollar sellout).

The remake was, overall, more believable.

Huh? You have to be kidding me. "Love Don't Cost a Thing" is seriously a horrible movie!

Bad acting and a horrible plot. I've never seen a school like that.

reply

Well just because you never saw a school like that doesn't mean there isn't one out there some what like it. The director exaggerated the characters and story in general because of the fact that its a Movie meant to entertain. If it was done 100% like real life it would be boring. Also it's a comedy so that's another reason why it wasn't done 100% realistically.

You say the actors were bad? why? they acted exactly how people their ages would act. They were all teenagers who had a lot to learn which is what the movie was teaching. Alvin was the main character of the story but I think the movie did a great job developing all of the characters progress from start to finish.

reply

HE SAID BAD ACTING.NOT THAT THEY DIDNT MAKE TEENAGER CHOICES AND ACT LIKE TEENS...AND IT WAS BAD ACTING.

I WOULD SAY THIS MOVIE IS TERRIBLE BUT ITS WAY TO FORGETTABLE FOR THAT.

reply

Well if they acted like teens then how could it be bad acting? That was literally the purpose of their parts of the movie. How was their acting bad? Do you think you're some kind of acting expert? I highly doubt it. The actors played their parts fine. You just didn't like the movie. Which is your right.

reply

THE CHARACTERS ACTED LIKE TEENAGERS..THE ACTORS PORTRAYING THEM DID A TERRIBLE JOB BEING BELIEVABLE.YOU ARE AWARE THAT A DIFFERENCE EXISTS BETWEEN BELIEVABLE CHARACTERS AND QUALITY ACTING?

reply

It wasn't believable to you because I don't think you really understand what this movie was presenting. Again this is a comedy, and it's a movie so the film maker exaggerated things to make it entertaining which I felt he or she did a good job at doing. If you disagree that's your opinion. Moving on now.

reply

SEE.YOU DONT UNDERSTAND.IGNORANCE IS MAKING YOU COME OFF BADLY...IT WAS BELIEVABLE.OK...HIGH SCHOOLERS IN HIGH SCHOOL.BELIEVEABLE....THE ACTING IS TERRIBLE HOWEVER.BELIEVEABLE BUT POORLY ACTED,DIRECTED AND WRITTEN.

reply

I love both versions! But neither of them are believable especailly the part in this version where they were telling them not to sit in a certain section and was bullying them. In real life, you know some kind of adminstrator would have broken that up before it got that far. But I did like Al's sister better then the Patrick Dempesey's charatcter's little brother.

Currently Reading: Nothing (Taking a short break from reading)

Eva *hearts* James Marsden!

Yeah Nick Cannon's acting(I just threw up in my mouth) is getting him all those Grammies and Tonys and Oscar's...Not! And how's it going to look watching a 60 year old Nick Cannon doing a teen Nick awards? Pretty morbid. Well if you think remakes are better I'm going to star in a remake of Roots with an all white cast.
