Queen Latifah's character is just a cameo or supporting role, according to an interview featured in "Entertainment Tonight" to set up her character for a "Barbershop" female spin-off entitled "Beauty Shop".

No...I think the "Beauty Shop" you speak of is NOT a spin off of Barbershop...but a movie version of a black stage play from the 80's called "Beauty Shop".

Actually, the beautyshop that Monique is in is a different beauty shop. Not the one that is the spin off of Barbershop. But Queen Latifah will be in the spin off of Barbershop.

Actually the Barbershop spin off with Queen Latifah IS the same Beauty Shop that Monique is in.
