the moral of the movie is wrong

If I have children I wouldn't want to be a burden on them, I would have them out of choice and allow them to live their lives in happiness. Children don't ask to be born for christ sake, shame that most parents have this mentality.

I think there was a communication problem between the 2 Generations in this movie.

The children felt that:
- the parents had not enough money to be able to live on their own;
- the parents were getting older and couldn't do as many things for themselves as they used to
- have a lifestyle and habits that would interfere with their own
- that the parents "needed" to be taken care of

The parents wanted:
- to spend more time with their children and grandchildren
- be a part of their life and get to know them better
- to be considered a still active and needed part of the family
- didn't want to burden their children, but help

Intentions, actions and communication though was broken between them.

The children missunderstood their parents desire, yet could not communicate openly their own concerns and desires, lashing out and mistreating the parents instead.

The parents as well did not understand the life, problems, and true wants of their children.

Raj got it partially right when the kids came up with the plan to "separate" them, as to not have them come live with them.

He said something like (paraphrasing a bit, as going by memory):
"They want to separate us, they don't want us to live with them, they don't want our love"

Yet even here he misunderstood, while it is true that they did not want him to live with them, it was not true that they didn't want his love. It was only that their concepts of love had drifted apart.

are you an American or something? lots of countries are like that, the parents raise their kids and the kids take care of their parents in old age... I think kids who put their parents in retirement homes are evil little *beep* who should burn in hell for such a terrible thing... and no, I am not a parent... I am a young woman i her 20s...
