Jenna was a terrible person

I think that was the point of the movie. Jenna saw the type of person she had turned into.

Also, I don't see how people thought Jenna (in her "mean girl" alternate) got to the top on "pure talent". One of her co-workers even said she stole another girl's idea, then fired her. She might have had *some* talent, but most likely got to the top by back-stabbing.

Jenna seeing what she had become was necessary so that when she got to do those 17 years all over again, she made a much more desirable life for herself.

Yes, girls so if you want to be Thirty, flirty and thriving try not to be bad to get there.
