The ONE thing I DO NOT LIKE about RACHEL RAY

The only thing I dont like about rachel ray is how she refers to her dog as her 'baby' and how shes always treating it like a child and talks about how se loves her like she would a baby. I mean, I do the same thing to my cat,(not as intense) I baby him and I love him to death, but seriously, everyone knows there is absolutely no comparison to dogs and babies; and everyone also knows, once you have an actuall child, that baby is your world, your life, and you love them so much more than you could ever love anything else; and that dog? its just a dog.

I would just think she would know that. Its annoying is all.

it all depends on your veiwpoint and whether or not you want to have kids. she has professed not to want children of her own because she is too much of a workoholic and knows she wouldnt be around enough for them. therefore her dogs are her babies. i saw her actually cry once over a voicemail on her phone from years ago that her mom sent her about her dead dog.

Some folks are very attached to their pets. My (grey tabby) Jinxie is family. If every couple who wanted a baby would just take the time to take care of a dog or cat, the world would be a better place. If you can't take care of a puppy or a kitty, what makes you think you would do any better with a baby?

I agree with the poster that said it depends on whether or not you want to have kids. Rachael says she doesn't, so the dog is something she can love and nurture.
Frankly, I think a dog is SO much better than a baby anyway. Having a baby isn't for everyone, and nor should it be.

She controlled the animals of the forest even the trees seeming to do her bidding.

Actually, her love of animals seems like RR's one redeeming feature. I admire people who are honest enough to admit they weren't cut out to be parents. I also have to take exception to the thoughts expressed by the OP about everyone bonding so deeply with babies. My partner's mother was a really cold, distant parent, and she's hardly in the minority.

Put puppy mills out of business: never buy dogs from pet shops!
