The characters were switched...

Michele was the tall one in the first one... and Romy was the brunette in the first one (well brunette in high school). Did anyone else recognize this?
Also, I remember in the first one they were ripping on "Pretty Woman" and in this one they pretty much live their lives by it.

This bothered the hell out of me the whole time I was watching it. Also, Romy (in the original) was the one who had the kinda more...deeper sultry voice if you know what I mean (very pretty I thought) and Michelle had the kind of ditzy "Unh!" exclamation that she would toss out (Romy did it SOME but Michelle did it more). In the sequel, "Romy" had BOTH the deeper sultry voice and the ditzy gasp thing going on. And "Michelle" just...had no particular thing going on with the way she talked at all. It was VERY confusing. If I'm totally wrong, anyone, just let me know. But that's how I saw the whole thing.

Oh and you're right about the Pretty Woman thing. I had forgotten about that. Pfft. :P

edit: Okay so there's another, longer thread about this same thing farther down, but this was the first one I saw. At least we're not the only 2 people who noticed this!

I am waching it right now and thought the exact same thing!

"In the end we are all who we are, no matter how much we may appear to have changed"

That is very very true...I guess someone didn't watch the original! Lol

Don't just dream; make it real.

Yeah I just caught it in the middle of airing and I couldn't tell who was playing Romy and who was playing Michele. Katherine Heigl physically resembles Kudrow's character more.

I've never seen the first one, but I guessed that Katherine Heigl was playing a young Lisa Kudrow - they have similar 'dumb' voices and are not entirely different looking either

That is the biggest issue I had with this movie (besides the awful and unfunny writing.) Both actresses were cast in the wrong parts. When the movie started I thought the one playing Romy was Michelle and vice versa. That was a terrible casting decision.
