Absolutely Awful Movie

Just saw this movie and enjoyed it, although it was REALLY really bad - but what could i do? i was home, taking a day off from work, and a little bored.

here what i thought of it.

I think the best part of the movie was its actors, the feel of the movie, and the camera work. The story line falls flat and there were a few stupid errors or questionable events, such as when they were at the lake and found the bodies - Jean Reno looks at the watch on one of the bodies and figures out the body had been dead for 30 minutes, so they run out and try to catch the killer. the timing is pretty much impossible even for superhumans cuz they had already spent around 10-15 minutes walking around the house, looking around for things. it would be impossible to cut off even one adult body into pieces, put it in a bag, and throw it in the river - that would leave the killer about 10 minutes to do that!!! that was annoying but it didn't ruin the movie for me...

the actors did a decent job with the poor dialog. i wish i had seen it in French...

i give it 6.5/10.

i love me

How nice of you to grant an above-average rating to an "absolutely awful" film.

It had been approx. half an hour between the killer dumping the corpses into the water and the arrival of the three officers at the cabin... Niemans figured that out because the watch had obviously stopped when it hit the water. The killer could have tortured/dismembered the victims for hours before he dumped them into the lake and then stuck around for a bit to look for any clues as to the whereabouts of the key. He was then, of course, interrupted by the cops.

Not to be rude, it just seems you didn't quite grasp what was going on at key points. That's certainly no fault of the film.

What makes you think i didn't grasp what was going on at Key points? Please point out those so-called "key points". As far as I'm concerned I understood the movie very very well, maybe a little too well, unlike some people who just go with the flow and don't wonder, don't question anything instead just think that's how it was supposed to be, & etc... good for you - me and you are different.

the above average rating was because I ENJOYED the movie, liked the acting, but the movie itself was bad for reasons already pointed. NOT the first time a bad movie has been liked by someone and i don't give less than average rating to a movie i liked even if technically it was bad.

Don't compromise yourself and don't fool yourself. You either be rude or not rude at all - you assuming someone didn't understand something is not just rude, but stupid because you assume that the film knew what it was doing. do you know that mistakes and errors happen in film and sometimes it's too late to go back to it? even some of the best novels/books have mistakes and someone points it out, doesn't mean that that someone didn't enjoy the book overall - simply means there were a few things wrong with it and a few unrealistic points.

I realize errors happen within film, all the time. It's just that the "error" that you pointed out wasn't an error at all. That's why I made the comment about you not grasping everything.

reply

Whatever it was it was unrealistic, so at the end of the day looks it simply look like an error, but you are giving them the benefit of the doubt by sticking to believing that somehow the timing made sense? you are quick to point out someone else isn't grasping everything, but you haven't given me a reason to believe that you know what you are talking about. you can't be accusatory without giving me a good explanation. What is your explanation for the timing? maybe i'll see things differently?

"REALLY really bad" --> "i give it 6.5/10. "

You should not be allowed to vote on movies on imdb - or on anything, really...
