Does anyone know if the working title of this film was ever "Dead Guys"? Or am I thinking of another gay horror film circa 2003?

It was the only other movie I could find that resembles what you were asking. I would imagine that this movie was always called Nine Dead Gay Guys but I know nothing on the subject.

This was always called "- Dead Gay Guys." The writer/director came up with the title thinking it would be funny, and he built a script around it. I think the initial title was "5 Dead Gay Guys."

No, I worked on the movie and it was always known as 9 Dead Gay Guys.

Perhaps you are thinking of "Nice Guys Finish Dead?" (2001)?
