A brilliant film...way past my expectations.

I just viewed this film and this was one of the best films I've ever seen..no I'm not just relating that to films that came out in the last few years or to it's genre (Drama) or Asian films..but films, in general. It was magnificent.
To someone who complains that it was boring or they didn't have the patience for it well you must not have much patience at all or a good attention span (not even remotely good) because this was a well paced film, wasn't overly long or too short but it was just done right and the idea of two brothers both wrecking at the same time is unique and the way the drama unfolds is very nice. The acting was absolutely brilliant and it had a plain and at times realisticness to it that made it so wonderful because it didn't bombard itself with overly stylish camera work or lots of music but used a minimalistic approach that did the film justice. The acting was, like a lot of Asian films I've seen, very well done and wasn't underdone or overly dramatic but just felt real. I was drawn into the film by the performances and felt like I was there and knew how someone was feeling and each emotion show through the face or body movement was done as how I would completely imagine it. This is easily worth anyones purchase who enjoys well paced emotional and mind boggling drama. The ending put me in a state of shock and I did not expect much of anything that was happening in the film. A great film that does a nice touch with each filmmaking element..can't think of any bad acting, poor pacing, bad direction, poor line of dialogue, camera shot, piece of music..rounded to brilliance by a lot of great work. Much recommended. 9.5/10.

Agree completely. I watched this late at night... figuring that I'd watch part of it and as soon as I started getting tired and missing subtitles stop and finish it another night. But I was riveted by Mi-yeon Lee's performance and saw it though to the end. It was great.

I've been waiting two years to finally see this movie. I purchased it and it came today. I ripped open the plastic and popped it into my DVD player right away. And, it was completely pst my expectations as well. I can say, this has got to be my favorite Korean film right now. I'm so glad I spent the $15 to get it off Amazon. ^ ^b I recommend it to EVERYONE.

Rent something by Chan-wook Park or Ki-Duk Kim. Both make excellent films.
