Did anyone else feel like Rosalie was treated like a prize?

Pete wanted Rosalie to go with him as he was planning to go to school in Richmond. Tad wanted Rosalee to go with him as he shot the movie. And what about Rosalee? What's she gonna do in either of those places? Be the girl who waits at home for her man to show up? She acted throughout the whole movie like she had no dreams or anything. But you can't just rip her away from everything like that.
