Way better than I expected

Never bothered watching this before because so many people were labelling it a colossal failure, but I really liked it. I haven't seen the original so obviously I can't compare, but I'm a bit mystified at all the hate towards it.

Some wonderfully funny moments, especially from Hanks, visually impressive as usual, plenty of dark humourm, yet its still a very warm film (compared to burn after reading for instance).

Very enjoyable and easily a severed head and shoulders above most other so-called comedies out there and one I'm glad to now add to my coen's collection.

The coen brothers are incapable of making a truly awful movie, IMO. I eventually saw intolerable cruelty and it was pretty good.

I like how Hudsucker proxy looks but im still not sure what to make of it.

Actually, I've watched the ladykillers a few times now and really like it - its one of the few films that really makes me laugh all the way through. I also got hold of the original version and do prefer the remake - though you can appreciate how truly original the first one was, but even so, why not make a remake, and the American South setting with the Edgar Allan Poe references was a neat idea.

'And engage in devine worship!!!' Hysterical.

I missed intolerable cruelty too because of all the negative hype, so I'm now quite keen to see that one now too.

Just read that hudsucker proxy (another one I've missed) is very similar in look to terry gilliam's Brazil, which sounds intriguing... so you might want to take a look at that film.

Edit Just seen hudsucker proxy too and found it utterly brilliant. Yes, it looks amazing, obviously a lot of money went into that. Immensely clever and funny film.

I've seen hudsucker proxy. I still dont know what to make of it. It's a clever film and a visual fest, but it's too much of a pastiche and doesn't really take any of its characters seriously.... i wanted to enjoy it but it left me cold

same here.
watched it yesterday ... finally, and I rather liked it, actually I liked it more than Burn After Reading.
