Considering the character you're referring to is Christian & the directors are Jewish, no. It's not.

I agree with the good doctor,

Bunuel was an atheist but he made the Milky Way, one of the most religious films of all. The themes of the movie is not limited to the director's faith.

And judging by a Serious Man they obviously didn't have a good experience with Judaism anyway.

Umm ... Bob Dylan was/is Jewish. It never stopped him from being Christian, or from making some deeply Christian albums.

Other famous Jews include Jesus Christ, Saint Paul, and all 12 of the apostles.

It also may be worth mentioning that one of the Coen brothers is married to the daughter of a Christian minister.
