I live about an hour and ten minutes from Jasper. I live in Louisiana but I was wondering if the movie was really filmed in the Jasper Texas area or somewhere else. I'm pretty sure it is considering this is based on a true story with true events.
shareThe 'goofs' on imdb for this movie say that one of the pharmacy windows in a background shot have a sign on it that says "Canada's #1 weightloss" so this was probably shot somewhere up there. You can kind of tell that this wasn't in Texas, just by the scenery.
shareThis movie was filmed in part in Beaverton, Ontario, CANADA. A small town about an hour north of Toronto. I know this as fact because I live there and watched the filming.

I live in Jasper born and raised. I can assure you that this movie wasn't filmed anywhere near Jasper.
