The dragging death of a black American in Jasper, Texas

I just want to say that my mother, Wanda Lou Mosher (maiden name Wood), was raised in Jasper, Texas and what happened there in 1998 absolutely appalled her and was against everything she believed in; she taught my brothers and sister and I to respect all people and leave the hate and dissension that is so prevalent in our world to other folks. I, too, am firmly against the death penalty but if anyone ever deserved to put to rest by the state then the perpetrators of what happened to Mr Byrd are surely deserved of it. Those *beep* really gave Jasper, Texas a bad name and it shamed my mother that that happened where she was raised.
