Because an online database (where anybody can contribute info) is always accurate, right? :P Whoever wrote that obviously just looked up who made the song famous and assumed that was the right version.
Trust me, that's *not* Pat Benatar's voice in the movie. I've heard her version enough to recognize it.
And that's why the Bring It On Again end credits don't list her name under performer - don't you think they'd be required to by law, if it was Pat's version? She'd sue, I'm sure.
Meanwhile, if it's Bethany singing, as I suspect, it would be relatively easy to get her permission to not give her credit...which was probably done because the filmmakers wanted to let people who don't listen closely/aren't that familiar with it, assume it was the original version of Hit Me, without having to clear it and pay for it. Bethany must've agreed to not take credit because she really wanted to be in the movie for the chance to play a different type of role, or because she's just so darn nice...who knows. But it wouldn't be the first time she didn't get proper credit for something... remember that One Tree Hill soundtrack that credited her as "Haley", her character, instead of using her real name. Sure, the fans of OTH know who that is, but it's not a very nice thing to do in terms of helping her with her singing career outside the show. If anyone hears that song, who isn't already familiar with her/her work on OTH, they'll have no idea who she really is.
So yeah, I'm almost positive that's Bethany's voice in Bring It On Again.
